This side-by-side percussion shotgun loads from the muzzle and fires via percussion caps on individual nipples, providing two shots—one per barrel. It is a reproduction pattern marketed by Connecticut Valley Arms and is clearly marked for black powder use only.
The barrels are 28 inches in length, steel, and smoothbore, with a solid rib and an under-rib that carries the wood ramrod. A brass bead serves as the front sight, and there is no rear sight. The rib is marked: "Connecticut Valley Arms, Inc. — Black Powder Only — 12 Cal. — Spain — SHOTGUN."
The lock and firing arrangement use dual external hammers and double triggers for independent control of each barrel. Capacity is two shots total. This firearm is not able to fire modern shotgun loads and is intended for black powder only.
