The PMXs is the civilian semi-automatic version of Beretta’s PMX platform used by the Italian Carabinieri. It operates from a closed bolt with a simple blowback system and features a single-action trigger. Controls include an ambidextrous manual safety with a two-position selector marked S/1, an ambidextrous magazine release, a bolt catch, and a reversible charging handle installed on the right side.
The 6.9 in cold-hammer-forged steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and cut with six grooves and a right-hand 1:9.84 twist. This barrel spec, along with the closed-bolt blowback system, defines the PMXs’s core configuration in this model.
The frame and receiver are polymer, and the lower handguard is polymer with an integrated front sling/retention loop. Markings include the model roll-mark "pmxs" on the receiver and the caliber marking "S–9x19" on the bolt, alongside Italian proof marks and "P. BERETTA – GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY."
A full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail is complemented by additional 3, 6, and 9 o’clock rails for accessory mounting. Factory flip-up sights are optional and not included, and this example is configured with no sights.
