The SD9 VE series is a striker-fired design with a double-action-style pull and a hinged safety trigger. This example features a 4-inch stainless steel barrel, a full-size polymer frame, and a 10+1 capacity. The left-side magazine release and textured polymer grip provide familiar, straightforward handling.
The matte stainless slide includes diagonal front and rear cocking serrations and an external extractor. Factory markings are present: the left side reads "SMITH & WESSON SD9 VE" with the S&W logo, the right side shows "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA USA," and the barrel hood is marked "9 MM."
Sight picture is a fixed 3-dot system, with a white-dot front and a white 2-dot rear. An accessory rail on the dust cover supports common rail-mounted lights or training aids. The two-tone look of the stainless slide over the black frame gives it a clean, purposeful appearance.
