This Taurus 856 Ultra-Lite is a six-shot, small-frame snubnose revolver in .38 Special with a 2-inch barrel and a matte black finish. It pairs an aluminum alloy frame with a steel barrel and cylinder, and features fixed sights with a pinned serrated ramp front. The revolver retains an exposed hammer for DA/SA operation and a fully shrouded ejector rod. Custom gray/black layered composite finger-groove grips are installed, and it comes with the factory box, manual, additional literature, a nylon clip-on holster, and the original Taurus rubber boot grip.

The 856 Ultra-Lite configuration delivers a compact, six-round .38 Special platform with an aluminum alloy frame and steel barrel and cylinder. The 2-inch barrel and fully shrouded ejector rod maintain the classic snubnose profile while protecting the ejector during carry and handling.
It uses a double-action/single-action system with an exposed hammer, giving the option of DA firing or a single-action press. Fixed sights consist of a pinned serrated ramp front and an integral top-strap notch rear for a straightforward sight picture.
This example wears gray/black layered composite finger-groove grips that provide a secure hand fit. The original Taurus rubber boot grip is also included, offering an alternative grip option.
Factory markings include "856 UL" and "ULTRA-LITE." Proof and import stamps read "Taurus Int'l Mfg, Bainbridge, GA" and "Taurus Armas – Made in Brazil." The crane/yoke is marked "790 C," and the serial number is also stamped on the barrel.
The revolver retains a uniform matte black finish across the frame, cylinder, and barrel. It is identified by UPC 725327932154 and manufacturer part number 3356389.
