What's Included
- 1x 40-round AR-15/STANAG-pattern magazine (GI-style)
- SIG Sauer SIG556 owner's manual
This SIG556 Classic uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston action with a two-position adjustable gas regulator. The 16-inch barrel ends in a plain crowned muzzle, and the right-side reciprocating charging handle mirrors the classic 55X manual of arms.
Sight equipment consists of a front sight on the gas block and a removable rotary diopter rear sight installed on the receiver rail. An integral Picatinny top rail provides a solid mounting surface along the receiver.
The rifle retains the Classic-series Swiss-style ergonomics, including a triangular side-folding polymer stock (handguard latch insert missing on this example; stock does not lock when folded) and a ribbed polymer pistol grip. Two-piece polymer handguards with ribs and ventilation slots aid control and heat dissipation.
Construction pairs a stamped steel upper with a 7075-T6 forged-aluminum lower receiver. Controls include a manual safety selector marked S/F and a left-side bolt catch/release. It feeds from AR-15/STANAG magazines and includes a 40-round magazine; length of pull measures 14.3 inches.
