The AR-15A4 is Colt's full-size, rifle-length AR-15 platform with a direct-impingement gas system and rotating bolt. This example features a 20-inch government-profile barrel and an overall length of 39.5 inches.
The barrel is chrome-lined with a 1:7 twist for 5.56 NATO, and it is threaded with an A2 flash suppressor. The A-frame front sight base integrates a bayonet lug and sling swivel, and the rifle uses round, ribbed rifle-length polymer handguards.
The upper is a flat-top configuration with the detachable carry handle rear sight installed. A forward assist and ejection-port cover are present. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a hard-anodized finish.
Furniture includes a fixed polymer stock with sling loop and an A2 pistol grip. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. Iron sights consist of the fixed A-frame front sight and the carry-handle rear sight.
Markings include the "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" barrel stamp. The factory box label matches the model and the serial on the receiver. Capacity is 30+1, and this rifle includes a Magpul PMAG Gen M3 magazine.
