The Galil ACE SAR Gen 1 pairs a milled steel upper receiver with a polymer lower housing for durability and balanced weight. Chambered in 7.62x39, it accepts standard AK/AKM magazines for broad compatibility. The long-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt system are central to its robust operating design.
The 8.3-inch barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, and threaded, capped with an open-ended, three-prong flash hider. The left-side, forward charging handle supports efficient manipulation while maintaining a firing grip.
Ergonomics and mounting options are well covered. A continuous top Picatinny rail spans the receiver and handguard, and the polymer tri-rail fore-end provides additional mounting space. Sights are adjustable iron units with a protected front post and a rear aperture with protective ears.
