It features a 20-inch sporter-taper barrel, a detachable 4-round magazine, and a laminated Monte Carlo stock. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and the rifle bears import markings from USSG (Rockledge, FL) and Zastava (Serbia).

Built by Zastava in Serbia and imported by USSG, this Model 799 uses a mini Mauser-pattern receiver with a push-feed bolt and a full-length external Mauser-style claw extractor. It feeds from a detachable box magazine and offers a 4+1 capacity in .22 Hornet.
The 20-inch sporter-taper barrel and blued metalwork keep the package trim and well-balanced. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, and the rifle has no iron sights.
The laminated hardwood stock features a Monte Carlo cheekpiece and cut checkering for a stable cheek weld and positive grip. A rubber recoil pad and sling swivel studs round out the stock features. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Production of the Remington 799 ran for a short period in the mid-2000s, with this example reflecting that era. Markings include USSG – Rockledge, FL and Zastava – Serbia, underscoring its Serbian manufacture and import history.
