The VP9SK is the subcompact member of HK's VP Series, built in Germany and marked with DE proof marks and the HKI Columbus, GA import stamp. The frame is marked Heckler & Koch GmbH - Made in Germany, and the serial number is repeated on the slide, barrel, and frame.
Its 3.39 in cold hammer forged steel barrel uses polygonal rifling for durability and easy maintenance. The slide includes front and rear serrations, VP-series rear charging supports, and a cocked striker indicator for quick status checks.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, with slide releases on both sides and HK's paddle-style magazine release. The striker-fired system offers short travel and a short reset, combined with a trigger safety lever. Integrated safeties include a firing pin block, trigger safety, disconnector, loaded chamber indicator, disassembly safety, and drop-safe design; it meets NATO/SAAMI drop-test standards.
Sighting is straightforward with fixed, dovetailed sights: a green-dot front post paired with a plain black rear notch, set over a 5.73 in sight radius. A three-slot MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail on the dust cover supports compatible lights or lasers. The FDE polymer frame ships with interchangeable backstraps and side panels to fine-tune the grip. The pistol accepts larger VP/P30-pattern magazines with sleeves for extended capacity options.
