What’s Included
- Colt Police Positive First Issue .22 LR revolver with 6-inch barrel
This First Issue Police Positive is the standard (non-Target) configuration chambered in .22 LR with a six-shot fluted swing-out cylinder. It operates in double-action/single-action and uses Colt's Positive Lock hammer-block safety. The fixed-sight arrangement includes a pinned blade front on a pedestal and a square-notch groove in the topstrap for the rear.
Construction is carbon steel throughout with a blued finish on the frame, receiver, and cylinder. It features the early small D-frame profile, an exposed hammer with a checkered spur, and a knurled ejector-rod head with no under-barrel shroud. The grips are black checkered hard rubber with Colt panels secured by a single grip screw.
Markings include the left barrel rollmark "POLICE POSITIVE CAL.-22" and the top-of-barrel address "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO.
HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." The Colt rampant horse logo is stamped on the left sideplate, and the frame’s yoke/crane cut carries an inspection stamp "F" below serial number 20149. Made in the United States, this example aligns with the early production details collectors expect from a 1921 First Issue revolver.
