This SIS Pro uses a full-size grip frame paired with a Commander-length slide, delivering a balanced 4-inch format with a bushingless match-grade bull barrel and reverse plug. The slide carries the SIS PRO rollmark, a flat-top profile, and the series’ stylized SIS rear cocking serrations that define the line.
The frame and slide are stainless steel with Kimber’s dark gray KimPro II self-lubricating finish. Texture and control are enhanced by factory 30-lpi frontstrap checkering and a flat, grooved mainspring housing. An ambidextrous thumb safety and a high-grip beavertail grip safety support confident handling.
Sighting is handled by fixed Meprolight night sights with a pronounced racking ledge. The sights are fixed, with the rear designed for one-handed slide manipulation when needed.
The fire-control suite includes a match-grade, solid aluminum trigger in a medium length with an overtravel screw, paired with a skeletonized Commander-style hammer. The pistol is single-action, .45 ACP, and ships with a 7-round magazine for a 7+1 capacity.
Developed with input from the LAPD Special Investigation Section and discontinued at the start of 2010, this non-Series II SIS Pro deletes the firing-pin safety and reflects the short production window of the SIS series, adding notable appeal for enthusiasts of purpose-driven 1911 variants.
