This Springfield Armory XD-40 Sub-Compact delivers .40 S&W performance in a carry-friendly 3 inch package with a forged steel slide and a hammer-forged barrel, both finished in Melonite. It features the XD series' loaded-chamber and striker-status indicators, an ambidextrous push-through magazine release, and robust passive safeties. Made in Croatia by HS Produkt and imported by Springfield Armory, this example is in good overall condition with an excellent bore and comes with one 12-round and two 9-round magazines.

The XD-40 Sub-Compact uses a striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech system with a dual captive recoil spring and full-length guide rod to manage .40 S&W in a compact format. The hammer-forged steel barrel measures 3 inches and, together with the forged steel slide, wears a Melonite finish.
Controls and safety features include an ambidextrous push-through magazine release, a grip safety, a trigger safety, and a striker block. A loaded-chamber indicator and a rear striker-status indicator provide clear status checks at a glance.
Sights are fixed 3-dot with dovetailed front and rear units (white 1-dot front, white 2-dot rear). The slide has both front and rear serrations for confident manipulation. The polymer frame has a smooth dust cover with no accessory rail ahead of the trigger guard.
This model accepts double-stack magazines. It ships with two flush-fit 9-round magazines and one extended 12-round magazine, enabling a 12+1 capacity when the extended magazine is used. Markings include "SPRINGFIELD INC., GENESEO, IL • MADE IN CROATIA."
