What’s Included
- Marlin Model 444S Sporter lever-action rifle chambered in .444 Marlin
- Aftermarket clamp-on hammer extension (installed)
The Model 444S Sporter pairs Marlin’s robust 336-pattern action and right-side ejection with the .444 Marlin chambering, offering a 22-inch blued barrel and a half-length tubular magazine rated at 4+1. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases; the factory plug screws are not present. A cross-bolt safety and standard (non–large-loop) lever complete the action layout.
Factory iron sights include a hooded ramp front and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear. The walnut forend is capped with a steel nose cap, and the walnut pistol-grip stock carries pressed checkering, a hard Marlin buttplate with a white-line spacer, a black grip cap with a gold-tone spacer, and the Marlin bullseye inlay. Front and rear sling swivel studs are installed.
An aftermarket clamp-on hammer extension is fitted for improved thumb purchase when manipulating the exposed hammer. The rifle retains its blued finish throughout and presents with honest exterior wear as noted.
Barrel twist is 1:38, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches. This rifle was manufactured in 1996 in the United States and represents the Sporter configuration within the 444S line.
