The M1A Standard is the civilian semiautomatic counterpart to the U.S. M14, using a Garand-derived operating system with a gas-operated, short-stroke piston and rotating bolt. This example features GI-pattern gas system components including the gas cylinder, gas lock, and knurled gas plug. The steel receiver wears a phosphate-type military finish and is heel-marked "U.S. RIFLE 7.62-mm M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY."
It has a 22-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle and a slotted M14 flash suppressor currently installed. A detachable multi-port muzzle brake is included, offering an alternate muzzle device configuration. Sights are GI-style: a wing-protected front blade integral to the flash suppressor and a protected rear aperture with windage and elevation knobs.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock with a clear finish, a metal buttplate, straight comb, semi-pistol grip, and an M14 selector cutout plug. The upper handguard is a black, ribbed polymer unit. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
A left-side receiver scope mount with a multi-screw top rail (block marked "C80") is installed for mounting optics. The rifle uses M14/M1A-pattern detachable magazines and is chambered in .308 Winchester with a 20+1 capacity, and it was made in the USA.
