The 4.5F Comp configuration uses an integrally compensated design with a single top port placed ahead of the front sight, which is positioned behind the port. The barrel is hammer-forged, and the slide is billet-machined steel with a Melonite finish for surface hardness and corrosion resistance.
The slide incorporates Springfield's Variable Interface System (VIS) direct-mount optics interface machined into the slide. The direct-mount hole pattern is currently exposed (cover plate removed), and an optics mounting hardware kit is included. Iron sights consist of a tritium/luminescent front dot and a Tactical Rack U-Dot rear.
This striker-fired pistol uses a short-recoil, locked-breech action with a flat-faced trigger and trigger safety. Controls include fully ambidextrous slide-stop levers and a reversible magazine release. The removable, serialized Central Operating Group (stainless-steel chassis) is housed in a polymer frame with aggressive molded texture, index pads, and interchangeable backstraps.
Capacity is 20+1 rounds, and this example ships with two 20-round and two 17-round magazines to cover duty-length and more compact carry options. A 1913 Picatinny rail supports weapon-mounted accessories, and approximate dimensions are 8.0 inches OAL, 5.5 inches in height, and 1.2 inches in width, with a weight of about 23.9 oz.
