The Texas Defender uses an over/under double-barrel derringer configuration with a 3-inch barrel set and a break-open action operated by a left-side locking lever. Capacity is two rounds, and a manually operated extractor lifts cases for removal; there is no ejector.
Construction is all stainless steel with a brushed finish on the frame and receiver. The interchangeable barrel system within the Bond Arms platform allows the user to swap barrel sets as designed by Bond Arms. The integral front blade pairs with a milled rear notch along the topstrap for fixed sighting.
Safety features include a cross-bolt safety and a rebounding hammer, paired with single-action-only operation. A trigger guard is present for added control.
