The 20-inch steel barrel uses a true cylinder bore for consistent shot patterns and is paired with a brass bead front sight. The chamber accepts both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells, offering flexibility across common 12-gauge loads. A perforated metal heat shield is installed over the barrel.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with an anodized finish and a Monstrum receiver-top Picatinny rail installed. Factory markings include 'Made in U.S.A. - North Haven, Conn.' and '500 - 12 GA.' It uses right-side ejection and a tubular magazine with a knurled cap for easy maintenance.
The aftermarket furniture centers on a 6-position adjustable carbine-style buttstock with a pistol grip in black polymer. The current length of pull is 12.0 inches. The ribbed polymer forend includes integral Picatinny accessory rails, and adhesive hook-and-loop strips are applied to the receiver and forend. A front sling loop is fitted on a barrel/magazine clamp just forward of the knurled magazine cap.
Controls are straightforward and familiar to Mossberg users, with a tang-mounted, ambidextrous safety and a bead front sight. This example also includes the original fixed synthetic buttstock with recoil pad and the original ribbed fore-end with its twin action bars assembly, offering options to configure the shotgun to preference.
