What’s Included
- 1x 9-round OEM Mec-Gar steel magazine for Springfield Armory (as marked)
This alloy-framed .40 S&W EMP is a less common configuration within the EMP line, offering the familiar 1911 single-action trigger in a micro-sized package. The EMP architecture incorporates approximately 15–17 redesigned parts and reduces the front-to-back dimension by about one-eighth inch, yielding a smaller grip circumference than standard Officer-size 1911s.
The 3-inch barrel is fully supported, ramped, bushingless, and of bull profile. This setup is designed around the EMP's shortened dimensions and provides solid lockup and reliable feeding in a compact format.
The slide wears a matte stainless finish with rear cocking serrations, while the forged aluminum-alloy frame features a black hardcoat-anodized finish, giving the pistol a clean bi-tone look. Slide and frame markings observed include "EMP CAL .40" on the slide and "SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL USA" on the frame.
Sighting is via low-profile 3-dot tritium night sights. The rear sight is Trijicon-marked "H3 10," indicating 2010 tritium lamp production, paired with a tritium front sight for a consistent, night-capable sight picture.
Controls and ergonomics include a left-side manual thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, and a flat, checkered mainspring housing with a checkered front strap. The pistol features a skeletonized 3-hole trigger and a skeletonized rowel/commander hammer. Grips are double-diamond checkered wood with Springfield Armory medallions. Capacity is 9+1 with the included 9-round OEM Mec-Gar magazine.
