The Model 11-48 is a U.S.-made long-recoil semi-automatic shotgun in 28 gauge with a 4+1 tubular magazine. The barrel is rollmarked '28 GA FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS,' confirming its 2 3/4 inch chambering. This example is the standard Model 11-48 configuration (not the Sportsman 48).
The 21-inch barrel wears a ventilated rib with a serrated/matte rib top and rib posts. A single front brass bead is mounted on the compensator for a clear sight picture. The bore is clean and bright.
An external Power-Pac compensator is installed at the muzzle. It uses interchangeable screw-on choke sleeves, with the Short choke sleeve currently fitted and marked "SHORT." The setup includes a knurled magazine cap for easy handling.
The walnut pistol-grip stock and diamond-checkered walnut forend provide a classic look and secure purchase. An aftermarket Pachmayr White Line recoil pad is fitted, bringing the length of pull to 14.0 inches. Additional details include a bright/silver-tone trigger in a dark trigger guard and two receiver cross pins above the trigger guard.
