Rock Island Armory M1911A 380 'Baby Rock' .380 ACP Compact 1911, 3.75 in Barrel, Parkerized, 7+1
This Rock Island Armory M1911A 380, also known as the 'Baby Rock,' is a compact 1911-style pistol chambered in .380 ACP. It features a forged steel barrel, a parkerized steel slide and frame, and the classic single-action operation. Made by Armscor in the Philippines and imported by Armscor Precision International (APINTL) in Pahrump, NV, it offers a 7+1 capacity within a 6.63 in overall length, 4.63 in height, and 1.25 in width, with an approximate unloaded weight of 1.47 lb.
The design follows the 1911 platform with a standard barrel bushing and GI-type recoil spring plug, dovetailed fixed sights, and front and rear slide serrations for positive manipulation. Controls include a thumb safety and grip safety, a lightweight three-hole trigger, and a commander/rowel hammer for a familiar 1911 control layout in a smaller package.
Materials and finish are duty-focused: a forged steel barrel for durability and an investment-cast steel frame and receiver, all finished in a uniform parkerized treatment. Black polymer grips feature double-diamond checkering with Rock Island Armory medallions for secure handling.
Sight configuration includes a fixed blade front sight that is dovetailed and screw-retained, paired with a fixed notch rear sight in a dovetail. Markings include APINTL–PAHRUMP NV and ACP PHILIPPINES, reflecting its manufacture by Armscor and U.S. importation by APINTL.

The M1911A 380 operates on a Browning-type recoil system and retains the traditional 1911 feel with scaled dimensions suited to .380 ACP. The compact slide includes both front and rear serrations, and the frame retains the familiar 1911 ergonomics and control placement. Capacity is 7+1 using a single-stack steel magazine.
Its mechanical layout mirrors GI-style elements, including the standard 1911 barrel bushing and GI-type recoil spring plug. The fixed, dovetailed sight set provides a consistent sight picture, with the front secured by a screw-retained dovetail.
Construction emphasizes robust steel components. The forged barrel and investment-cast steel frame and receiver are finished in parkerizing for a matte, protective surface. Grips are black polymer with double-diamond checkering and Rock Island Armory medallions.
Dimensions and weight keep it compact and manageable: 3.75 in barrel, 6.63 in overall length, 4.63 in height, and 1.25 in width, at approximately 1.47 lb unloaded. Country of origin is the Philippines, with importation by APINTL in Pahrump, NV.
