The carbon-fiber sleeved, tensioned barrel pairs a stainless steel core with a lightweight wrap to reduce weight while maintaining stiffness. The heavy-profile, 16.12 inch barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a thread protector. Rifling is 1:16 right-hand with six grooves.
The rifle uses simple blowback, semi-automatic operation with a right-side charging handle and a cross-bolt safety. The receiver is aluminum alloy, keeping overall weight low while providing a solid base for the included optics rail.
The Magpul X-22 stock offers a rubber buttpad, sling attachment points, and M-LOK slotting at 6 o'clock on the fore-end. Length of pull is 13.5 inches. The stock's white-speckle black finish gives a clean, modern look that complements the carbon-fiber barrel.
