Variant 1 controls include a left-side manual safety/decocker and a DA/SA trigger system with a spurred external hammer. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release and firing pin safety round out the control set.
The slide wears HK’s HE nitrocarburized black finish over a fiber-reinforced polymer frame. Sights are a fixed notch/post arrangement with a rear sight marked Trijicon H3 04.
Proofed in Germany and imported by Heckler & Koch, Inc., Sterling, VA, this pistol carries the eagle/N and Ulm antler marks along with an AD (2003) date code. It is tri-serial numbered (slide, barrel, frame) and features the HK proprietary compact accessory rail.
