What's Included
- Original case
- HK VP70Z owner's manual (Selbstladepistole VP70Z)
- HK factory test target sheet
- Two 18-round steel double-stack magazines
The VP70Z employs a straight-blowback operating system paired with a fixed 4.6 inch steel barrel. It is striker-fired, double-action only, with a long, heavy pull as part of its original design. The pistol uses double-stack magazines for an 18+1 capacity.
Controls are distinctive to the platform: a cross-bolt manual safety sits above the trigger, and a push-button disassembly control is incorporated into the frame. A heel-type magazine catch at the butt retains the magazines in the European style. The slide features rear serrations for manipulation.
Sighting is via fixed open sights with white inserts, including a front fixed blade and a rear fixed notch with white vertical bars. The frame is polymer with an integral textured grip, reflecting the VP70 family’s status as the first production polymer-framed handgun.
Markings include the Ulm stag antler proof and Eagle/N proof, along with the HK IC date code indicating 1982 manufacture. The slide bears the HK Inc., Arlington VA 22201 importer marking, and the serial number is repeated on the slide and barrel, consistent with HK factory practice for this model.
