What’s Included
- Marlin Model 1895 SBL rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt
Ruger resumed Marlin production with this model on December 20, 2021, and this SBL reflects that relaunch with the RM-prefix serial and Mayodan, North Carolina barrel address. It is chambered in .45-70 Govt and built on a stainless steel receiver and 18.5 inch stainless barrel for durability and weather resistance.
The barrel is factory threaded 11/16x24, adding versatility, and the rifle retains right-side loading with side ejection. A nickel-plated, spiral-fluted bolt and large-loop lever provide smooth cycling and confident handling.
Sight setup is straightforward and fast: a ghost-ring rear paired with a green fiber-optic front. A factory rail and scope mount are present for optic installation when desired, expanding sighting options without altering the rifle’s character.
The gray/black laminated hardwood stock and forend feature sharp checkering, a straight-grip wrist with an inlaid Marlin horse-and-rider medallion coin on the underside, inletted red-and-white Marlin bullseye, rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.38 inches, and overall configuration is full-size with a full-length tubular magazine.
Additional functional details include a cross-bolt safety and exposed hammer. The SBL’s factory 4+1 capacity, stainless finish, and practical feature set make it a compelling, current-production iteration of the Model 1895.
