The M206 pairs a compact 2.0-inch barrel with a full six-round cylinder, offering .38 Special chambering in a steel, investment-cast, heat-treated build. The parkerized gray finish on the frame and cylinder provides a matte, utilitarian appearance.
Its double-action/single-action system uses an exposed spurred hammer for deliberate cocking when desired. A transfer-bar safety is included. The smooth-face trigger supports consistent, repeatable pulls in both modes.
The barrel is pinned and button-rifled, with a short underlug. Sighting is straightforward and robust: a fixed ramp front integral to the barrel and a fixed square-notch rear milled into the topstrap. The serial number is located on the topstrap.
Ergonomics come from black rubberized polymer finger-groove grips with Rock Island Armory medallions. Manufactured by Armscor in the Philippines for Rock Island Armory, this revolver carries the RIA crest/logo on the frame along with a PHILIPPINES marking.
