The Vang Comp System barrel is ported and maintained as a true cylinder bore, giving this 590 a duty-style setup with a short 18.5 inch length and a magazine tube that ends short of the muzzle (not flush). The receiver is drilled and tapped, and the shotgun uses Mossberg’s tang-mounted safety.
Furniture is upgraded with a Magpul SGA 500 buttstock and a Magpul MOE 590 M-LOK forend. The stock provides adjustable length of pull and is currently set to approximately 12.0 inches. A Kick-Eez recoil pad is installed for the buttstock, and the M-LOK forend provides accessory mounting slots.
Sight regulation is handled by a receiver-mounted adjustable ghost ring rear and a ramped blade front sight with an orange insert for a clear aiming reference. The matte-finished aluminum alloy receiver keeps weight manageable while maintaining durability.
