What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 686-1 M-modified .357 Magnum revolver
Built on a stainless steel frame with a matching stainless cylinder and heavy stainless barrel, this 686-1 emphasizes durability and balance. The full-length underlug and serrated top rib complement the 6 inch barrel, and the six-shot fluted cylinder includes a knurled ejector-rod tip. Factory rollmarks and inspection/assembly stamps are present, including the S&W logo on the frame and yoke markings.
The revolver retains its original double-action/single-action operating system with a smooth-faced trigger and a wide, checkered-spur hammer. Sighting is handled by an adjustable rear unit paired with a ramped front sight featuring an orange insert for defined sight reference.
This example is the M-modified variant, with the factory "M" recall modification applied and the yoke cut stamped accordingly. It is a pre-lock configuration, consistent with the -1 engineering change era.
Aftermarket Pachmayr Gripper rubber finger-groove stocks with gold medallions are installed. These stocks are contoured with finger grooves and a textured rubber surface.
Part of the Distinguished Combat Magnum series, the 686-1 combines .357 Magnum capability with a robust stainless construction and features geared to service and target roles.
