The FN 503 uses a slim, single-stack 6+1 design around a 3.1 in barrel, giving it a compact profile in the micro category. The dustcover is smooth with no accessory rail, consistent with its streamlined format.
The slide wears a black nitride finish and rear-only cocking serrations. The frame is black polymer with aggressive textured grip panels bearing the FN oval medallion. Controls include a button-style magazine release and a polymer trigger shoe with an integrated trigger safety blade.
Sighting equipment consists of low-profile metal 3-dot irons with a dovetailed rear. The barrel uses a 1:10 RH twist, and rifling presents with sharp lands and grooves.
