The LCR’s construction pairs an aluminum monolithic upper frame with a polymer fire control housing to keep weight down while maintaining rigidity. The left-side push-button cylinder release is easy to access, and the Ruger phoenix logo and serial number are present on the frame, with the model/caliber rollmarks on the barrel shroud forward of the cylinder.
Its 1.875" sleeved stainless steel barrel shows visible stainless at the crown, and the deeply fluted stainless cylinder wears a black protective finish. Capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special +P.
The DAO system uses an internal, shrouded hammer and Ruger’s friction-reducing cam for a consistent trigger pull. A transfer bar provides mechanical safety, and the smooth-faced trigger supports controlled operation.
Sighting is straightforward and durable with a replaceable pinned ramp front sight and an integral rear gutter channel. The black textured rubber grip with two finger grooves offers secure purchase. This LCR was manufactured in 2014 in Newport, New Hampshire, USA.
