The 608 uses an eight-shot fluted cylinder and a double-action/single-action trigger system. It features a push-forward, frame-mounted cylinder latch and a knurled ejector-rod tip for positive operation. Construction throughout is stainless steel with a consistent matte finish.
The 8-3/8" barrel incorporates a vent rib, a full underlug, and factory porting at the muzzle. The barrel is roll-marked ".357 MAGNUM," confirming chambering. These factory features define the profile and handling characteristics of this long-barreled 608.
Sighting equipment consists of a ramped front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight. The revolver is compatible with .38 Special and .38 Special +P, in addition to .357 Magnum, offering flexible ammunition options.
Markings include the Taurus bull logo on the left side of the frame and an inside yoke cut stamped "608" over "0335." Origin is Brazil, with importation by Taurus USA. Aftermarket finger-grooved, checkered wood target stocks are installed, providing a target-style grip profile.
