Product Description

Beretta AL2 12 Gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun, 28 Inch Ribbed Barrel, 1971 Italian Garcia Import, Engraved Coin-Finished Receiver, Walnut Stock

Made in Italy in 1971, this P. Beretta Mod. AL2 is a gas-operated 12 gauge semi-automatic with mid-grade AL2 trim and factory engraving. It features a coin-finished, scroll-engraved receiver with the Beretta three-arrow crest banner, a 28 inch blued barrel with a solid matted rib and single front bead, and checkered walnut furniture. Garcia Sporting Arms, Washington, D.C.

imported this example, and it carries Italian Gardone proof and date marks.

The AL2 uses the AL-series A300-pattern gas system with right-side ejection, a tubular magazine (3+1 stated capacity) capped by a knurled end cap, and a polished bolt. Controls include a cross-bolt safety with a red indicator and a gold-colored trigger. The receiver combines coin-finished engraved side panels with black anodized upper and lower surfaces, matched to a blued barrel for a classic Beretta presentation.

The walnut stock and forend show cut checkering for grip, a pistol-grip profile with a grip-cap medallion, and a Beretta buttplate. Length of pull is 14.0 inches, offering a straightforward fit. Proof and import markings include MADE IN ITALY, Gardone proof/date codes, and the Garcia Sporting Arms import stamp.

    What’s Included

    • P. Beretta Mod. AL2 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun

This AL2 shows the desirable mid-grade trim with its gold-colored trigger and factory-applied scrollwork. The engraved coin-finished side panels frame the Beretta three-arrow crest banner, while the black anodized upper and lower receiver surfaces provide contrast. The polished bolt and clean action layout reflect the AL-series A300-pattern gas system design.

The 28 inch blued barrel features a solid, matted rib and a single front bead for a clean sight picture. Right-side ejection and the tubular magazine with a knurled end cap align with the AL2 configuration and the noted 3+1 stated capacity.

Walnut furniture includes a checkered pistol-grip stock with a grip-cap medallion and a Beretta buttplate, paired with a walnut forend. The 14.0 inch length of pull keeps dimensions familiar and usable.

Markings confirm Italian manufacture with Gardone proof and date codes, MADE IN ITALY text, and the Garcia Sporting Arms, Washington, D.C. import stamp, placing this example squarely in the early 1970s production period.
