The Shield EZ M2.0 configuration features an internal hammer-fired single-action mechanism, a grip safety, and ambidextrous manual thumb safety. This example is capable of firing with the magazine removed, as it does not have a magazine disconnect.
The 3.675 inch stainless steel barrel is matched to a black Armornite slide and a black polymer frame. The slide wears EZ-style front and rear serrations, with the “M2.0” legend engraved on the slide flat ahead of the rear serrations; the polymer frame has the molded M&P logo without “M2.0” text.
Sighting is via dovetailed 3-dot iron sights, with the front sight stamped TG-H3. A loaded-chamber indicator is integrated at the barrel hood for quick visual status.
Markings include the left-side legend "M&P 9 SHIELD EZ" and the right-side legend "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A." A four-slot accessory rail is molded into the dust cover for mounting compatible lights or accessories. The serial number matches the case label.
