Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman .357 Magnum, 6 Inch, Blued, DA/SA N-Frame Revolver
This Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman is a 1970s-era N-frame .357 Magnum with a 6-inch barrel, matte/satin blued finish, and adjustable sights. It features color case-hardened controls and a pinned barrel. Aftermarket Pachmayr Presentation rubber grips are installed. The revolver falls in the N-prefix serial range indicative of mid-1970s manufacture.
Built on S&W's robust N-frame with a six-shot fluted cylinder, this Highway Patrolman retains the series' practical configuration and clean lines. The topstrap is plain, and the under-barrel lug is short and unshrouded, paired with a knurled-tip ejector rod. It chambers .357 Magnum and also accepts .38 Special.
Controls include a grooved, color case-hardened trigger and a color case-hardened hammer with a checkered spur, plus the standard S&W checkered cylinder release. Sights are a ramped front and an adjustable rear, providing a clear, traditional sight picture.
Factory markings are present: the right side of the frame is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." The barrel shows "SMITH & WESSON," ".357 S.&W. MAGNUM CTG.," and "HIGHWAY PATROLMAN." The yoke cut is stamped "MOD. 28-2" along with assembly/inspection numbers.
The aftermarket Pachmayr Presentation rubber grips are installed and provide a modernized gripping surface while preserving the gun's functional character. Overall, this is a well-kept example of a 28-2 with desirable 6-inch configuration and period-correct features.

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: This firearm is in great shape. There are some minor scratches and blemishes present. The action is smooth, and the lockup is tight.
