Product Description

Marlin Model 56 Levermatic .22 LR, 24 in Barrel, Micro-Groove, Kassnar 4x32 Scope, 7+1 Capacity

This Marlin Model 56 Levermatic is a U.S.-made .22 LR from the 1950s–1960s, notable for its short-stroke lever system and detachable box magazine. It features a 24-inch Micro-Groove barrel, a curved aluminum-alloy receiver, and a Monte Carlo-comb hardwood stock. It comes equipped with a Kassnar Deluxe 4x32 scope and three magazines, offering a complete, ready-to-use small-bore lever package.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: The firearm remains structurally solid. There are widespread scratches and blemishes across the exterior. Pitting and finish wear are present across metal surfaces.

    What’s Included

    • Kassnar Deluxe 4x32 scope with simple crosshair (fixed reticle), mounted on receiver base
    • Two 7-round detachable steel box magazines
    • One 5-round detachable steel box magazine

The Model 56 uses Marlin’s Levermatic short-stroke lever system, delivering fast cycling in a compact motion. It feeds from a detachable box magazine with a stated 7+1 capacity, and this example includes two 7-round mags plus one 5-round mag.

The 24-inch barrel is marked "MODEL 56 - .22 CAL. - MICRO-GROOVE - PATENT PENDING," highlighting Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling of the period. This rifling style was a hallmark feature across Marlin’s .22 lineup in the era.

The receiver is a curved aluminum-alloy design, drilled and tapped and presently fitted with a scope base. A ramped front sight base is present for clear aiming references.

The hardwood stock features a Monte Carlo comb and pistol-grip profile, complemented by a white-line spacer and a factory Marlin checkered buttplate. Sling swivel studs are installed fore and aft for easy sling attachment.

Originating from the 1950s–1960s, this U.S.-made rifle reflects Marlin’s mid-century design approach to lightweight, fast-handling .22 LR lever guns. No serial number is visible on this example.
