Walther P38-K 9mm Compact DA/SA Pistol, 2.25 in Barrel, Two-Tone Finish, 1977 Ulm/Interarms Import
The Walther P38-K is the compact "Kurz" variant of the P38, notable for its 2.25 in barrel that sits slightly proud of the slide nose and its classic P38 locking system in a smaller format. This 1977 Ulm/Do-produced example bears German commercial proofs and Interarms import marks, pairing a matte slide with a glossy dark frame. It retains hallmark P38 features with DA/SA operation, a decocking control, a loaded-chamber indicator, and a heel-release magazine, making it a distinctive, less common configuration that appeals to knowledgeable buyers.
Compact dimensions, sights with high-visibility inserts, and period-correct markings underscore its collector interest while maintaining the proven mechanics of the P38 pattern. The included 8-round P38-pattern magazine completes the setup.

The P38-K ("Kurz") short-slide configuration uses a 2.25 in barrel that protrudes slightly beyond the nose of the open-top slide. It retains the P38-type falling locking block, delivering the well-known P38 mechanical layout in a compact size while keeping parts compatibility themes with the pattern.
Controls follow the classic P38 format: DA/SA operation with a spurred external hammer, a decocking control, and a heel-release magazine. A loaded-chamber indicator pin at the rear of the breech block provides a simple visual/tactile status check. Capacity is 8+1, and a lanyard loop is fitted.
Sights are easy to reference, with a ramped front blade carrying an orange/red insert and a square-notch rear with a white outline. The front sight is mounted to the slide base, consistent with P38-K configuration.
Finish is two-tone, with a matte, parked-type slide over a glossy dark frame. Rollmarks include the Walther banner and P38-K model designation. Markings and proofs include "MADE IN GERMANY," the Ulm antler proof, Eagle/N nitro proof, and "INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA" import legend, confirming manufacture at Walther Ulm/Do in 1977 for U.S. import.
