This Model 972 is the R97206 configuration with a 6-inch barrel and six-round capacity. The barrel is a heavy profile with a full-length underlug, a serrated top rib, and the topstrap is serrated to reduce glare and aid sight alignment.
Its construction is stainless steel throughout the frame, cylinder, and barrel, all in a polished stainless finish. The six-shot fluted cylinder features a knurled ejector-rod tip for positive ejection.
Operation is double-action/single-action with an exposed, checkered-spur hammer. Sights are adjustable iron sights, combining a ramped, pinned front sight with a fully adjustable rear. The two-piece black rubber finger-groove grip panels carry Rossi medallions.
