Built on a full-size 1911 platform, this Gold Cup features stainless-steel construction with bright-polished slide flats and a longitudinally serrated flat-top rib. The slide carries "SERIES '80 COLT MK IV - GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH" rollmarks with the Rampant Colt logo and trophy emblem. It was manufactured by Colt’s Manufacturing Co. in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
The 5 in National Match barrel is fitted for accuracy, with the hood marked "COLT .45 AUTO N.M.". The slide includes rear cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port. Sight regulation is handled by an adjustable target rear paired with a black front sight.
Fire control is configured for precision: a wide target trigger with lightening cuts and an overtravel adjustment screw, plus a wide spur hammer. The pistol uses a flat, serrated mainspring housing, a standard checkered magazine release, and left-side controls.
Operation is single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech, with Series 80 firing-pin block safety, a manual thumb safety, and a grip safety. The wraparound black rubber stocks with Colt medallions provide a secure hold. Capacity is 7+1 with the included single-stack magazines.
