The controlled-round-feed action with full-length claw extractor defines the Alaskan series and supports reliable cycling of the .375 H&H Mag. cartridge. The forged steel receiver is polished blue and fitted with the three-position wing safety. Winchester’s M.O.A. trigger system and a hinged floorplate with a blued steel trigger guard round out the action features.
Capacity is 3+1.
The polished blue sporter-contour barrel measures 24 inches and uses a 1:12 twist. Sights are factory open sights: a ramped front sight on a soldered base (hood not installed) and a folding rear barrel sight with windage and elevation adjustment. While Winchester’s catalog lists a 25-inch barrel for this chambering, this rifle measures 24 inches.
The walnut stock features a classic straight comb with cheekpiece, cut checkering, dual cross-bolts with decorative escutcheons, sling swivel studs, and a black recoil pad. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, providing a solid fit behind the rifle’s heavyweight chambering.
Factory inscriptions include Model 70 Alaskan and Made in U.S.A. - Assembled in Portugal by Browning Viana. Additional markings include CIP proof marks on the barrel and receiver flats and a BACO, Morgan, Utah import marking. Two-piece scope bases and 1-inch horizontally split rings are installed, ready for the optic of your choice.
