Ruger P97DC .45 ACP Full-Size, Stainless Slide, DA/SA Decocker-Only, 4.25 in Barrel, 2002 Production
This Ruger P97DC is a full-size .45 ACP from the P-Series, combining a matte stainless slide with a reinforced polymer frame. Manufactured in 2002, it features decocker-only ambidextrous controls, a 4.25 in barrel, and a 7+1 single-stack magazine system. The model’s open-top slide window and linkless cam-block locking highlight the transitional engineering that led to later Ruger .45 designs.

The P97DC is a DA/SA, short-recoil, hammer-fired pistol using a linkless cam-block locking system with an open-top slide window. This variant is decocker-only, with ambidextrous slide-mounted decocker levers clearly marked on the slide.
Construction pairs a matte stainless slide with a black glass-fiber-reinforced Isoplast/polyurethane polymer frame. A one-piece molded grip with Ruger medallion and an external hammer complete the controls and handling profile.
Sights are the practical 3-dot white setup, with a pinned white-dot front and a drift-adjustable dovetail white-dot rear. The magazine release is single-sided, and the pistol uses the Ruger P-Series .45 ACP single-stack magazine system with a 7+1 capacity.
Dimensions are full-size yet trim: 4.25 in barrel, 7.25 in overall length, 5.47 in height, 1.10 in width, and an unloaded weight of 31 oz. These measurements reflect the P97DC’s streamlined .45 ACP configuration.
Markings include "RUGER P97DC" on the left side of the slide; "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A." on the right; and "DECOCK ONLY" on the slide. Produced from 1999–2004, the P97DC served as a transitional design preceding the P345. This example was manufactured in 2002, and its 663- serial prefix falls within the P97D production block.
