The Shield Plus micro-size frame pairs easily concealed dimensions with a 13+1 capacity magazine. This example is the thumb-safety configuration and uses a striker-fired action with a trigger safety and firing pin block.
The slide wears Smith & Wesson's Armornite finish and features rear cocking serrations and a factory optics cut. The cover plate has been removed and is not included; the mounting holes are visible. Steel, dovetailed 3-dot sights are installed, with a white-dot front.
A key upgrade on this pistol is the extended, threaded stainless steel barrel with a knurled thread protector, installed in place of the standard 3.1-inch unit. The bore presents bright and clean with sharp rifling.
The black polymer frame provides a textured grip, and controls include a left-side magazine release. Markings include "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A." and "SHIELD" on the slide, and "9MM" on the barrel hood. Made in the United States.
