This late-production H&R Model 904 is a 9-shot .22 LR target variant from the 900-series, produced circa 1980–1985 with the Gardner, Massachusetts rollmark. It features a heavy 6 in bull barrel with a full-length rib and longitudinal serrations, an adjustable rear sight, and a polished blue finish with the hammer and cylinder left in the white. The revolver is double-action/single-action with an external hammer and smooth hardwood grips bearing H&R medallions.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Minor pitting and light surface rust are present on select metal areas. The wood grips show noticeable scratches and scuffs.

Built during H&R’s final factory era, this Model 904 carries the Gardner, Massachusetts frame rollmark and represents a late-production example of the 900-series target line. The configuration and marking details align with production circa 1980–1985.
The 6 in steel bull barrel is paired with a full-length solid rib featuring longitudinal serrations, providing a clean sighting plane. Sighting is set up with a fixed ramped front blade and an adjustable square-notch rear sight with a top screw.
The revolver operates in double-action/single-action and uses a 9-shot swing-out cylinder with a star extractor and a forward-push rod release. It has an external hammer with a checkered spur for confident control.
Construction is all-steel with a polished blue finish, complemented by a hammer and cylinder left in the white. Smooth hardwood grips with inlaid H&R medallions complete the full-size frame.
