This HS Model 21S reflects the classic single-action profile with an SAA-style loading gate, an under-barrel ejector, and a knurled base pin for easy cylinder removal. The blade front sight and rear sight keep the sight picture simple and durable.
As a JANA Bison import, this revolver carries distinctive markings: JANA - BISON - DENVER, COLO.; H. SCHMIDT, OSTHEIM/RHOEN - MADE IN WEST GERMANY; and .22 MAGN GERMANY. These markings, along with the bison-medallion checkered black plastic grips, tie it directly to the Bison-branded imports from the 1960s–1970s.
The revolver is a clone of the Colt Scout Frontier, offering a familiar handling profile and traditional operation in a rimfire package. The 5.5 in barrel balances the six-shot cylinder and provides a steady sight radius for the iron sights.
This convertible .22 LR/.22 WMR design is presently set up with the .22 WMR cylinder. The barrel is roll-marked “Cal. .22 LR,” and the installed cylinder is roll-marked “.22 MAGN GERMANY.” The barrel and cylinder wear a blued finish contrasted by a light-finish frame, while the external single-action hammer has a serrated spur for confident cocking.
