Product Description

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Type III .32 ACP, 3.75 in Barrel, Blued, 1924-1925 Production

This Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Type III is a compact .32 ACP pistol built in the 1924-1925 production window. It features a 3.75 in barrel, blued steel construction, and factory black checkered hard-rubber grips. Clear Colt slide legends, period inspection and assembly stamps, and the internal-hammer blowback design identify it as a classic Type III "Model M" with hallmark Colt details.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: There is finish loss and scratching throughout the frame and slide, with pitting visible in the slide serrations. The frame bears personal engraving.

    What's Included

    • 1x 8-round detachable single-stack steel magazine

The Type III configuration combines an internal hammer with a straight-blowback action and dual safeties (thumb safety and grip safety). Its compact size with a 3.75 in barrel and an 8+1 capacity made the Model 1903 a well-regarded pocket pistol in its era.

Factory markings include the right-side slide legend "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS." and the left-side legend "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO.

    HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. PATENTED APR. 20. 1897.

DEC. 22. 1903." along with the Rampant Colt logo. The slide has vertical rear-only serrations and a separate, rotating/removable muzzle bushing retained by a spring-loaded detent.

The pistol is built on a blued steel frame and slide with fixed iron sights: a small fixed front blade and a rear notch. Grips are the factory black checkered hard-rubber panels with the COLT banner and prancing colt.

Notable inspection and assembly markings are present: a K stamp at the right of the muzzle face, an R on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard, a triangular proof on the left front of the trigger guard, and a two-digit assembly number 34 on the right side of the frame above the trigger. The serial number is located on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard.

Manufactured in the United States during 1924-1925, this Type III "Model M" retains the period-correct features and markings that appeal to Colt collectors and enthusiasts.
