What’s Included
- Weatherby Athena Trap 12 Gauge over/under shotgun
This Athena Trap is built on a Japanese-made over/under platform with SKB lineage, chambered in 12 gauge for 2 3/4-inch shells. It is a break-action design with a single trigger and a two-round capacity. The barrel address reads South Gate, Calif., reflecting the Weatherby import era and adding clear model provenance.
The 30-inch barrels use a ventilated top rib and ventilated side ribs to suit trap use, paired with both a front bead and a mid bead for a precise sight picture. The barrels are blued, and the fixed chokes underline the trap-focused configuration without visible choke tubes.
The receiver features a coin finish with sideplate-style panels and factory rosette and scroll engraving. A gold Weatherby crown inlay on the tang provides a distinct branded detail, complementing the classic aesthetic.
The high-gloss walnut stock is checkered and includes a pistol grip, a Monte Carlo comb, and a beavertail forend. A ventilated recoil pad and a grip cap with spacer are fitted. The length of pull measures 15.0 inches, and the stock has right-hand cast off for right-shoulder alignment.
Markings include Made in Japan and South Gate, Calif., along with proof and inspection notations A205, NP, and W (knurled ring). These details help authenticate manufacture origin and the model’s period features.
