The SD40 VE delivers a proven .40 S&W setup in a balanced full-size format. It features a 4-inch stainless steel barrel and a matte stainless slide over a black polymer frame for a durable, two-tone finish. Capacity is 14+1, with two factory magazines included.
The striker-fired action uses S&W’s SDT Self Defense Trigger for a consistent pull rated at approximately 8.0 lb. Angled front and rear cocking serrations provide confident slide manipulation, and the sights are dovetailed for secure mounting and straightforward replacement if desired.
Its sighting system is a clear 3-dot setup, combining a white-dot front sight with a fixed 2-dot rear, both dovetailed into the slide. This configuration offers a simple, familiar sight picture.
An integrated Picatinny-style accessory rail with a single cross-slot is molded into the frame for adding compatible lights or other accessories. The pistol measures 7.2 in overall length, 1.29 in width, and weighs 22.7 oz unloaded, making it easy to handle and carry for a full-size .40 S&W.
