- Installed cleaning rod
Manufactured at Kırıkkale Arsenal and dated 1940 on the receiver ring, this rifle carries clear ASFA ANKARA K. KALE and star-and-crescent crests that identify its origin and era. The forged steel receiver and barrel wear a blued finish consistent with Turkish arsenal practice during the WWII period.
Built on the large-ring Mauser 98 platform, it uses a controlled-round-feed bolt with a robust extractor and a charger/stripper-clip guide. The internal magazine holds 5 rounds, with a 5+1 overall capacity. The 29.25-inch barrel is chambered in 8mm Mauser and pairs with the action for reliable feeding and ejection.
The full-length hardwood stock has a straight wrist and a short top handguard around the rear-sight area. Stock features include a takedown disk and a flat steel buttplate. Sling swivels are present (belly mount and side-mounted on the front band), and the nose cap integrates a bayonet lug. Length of pull is 13.25 inches.
Sighting equipment consists of an unhooded front post with protective ears and a tangent rear ladder. A three-position wing safety is fitted to the bolt shroud, consistent with the Mauser 98 system.
