What’s Included
- 1x 5-round Winchester 69-pattern detachable box magazine (steel, factory style), as shown
The Model 69A accepts .22 S, L, or LR and uses a detachable box magazine with a 5+1 capacity. Its magazine pattern is shared with Winchester Models 52, 56, 57, and 75, offering a well-supported format for this period-correct rimfire.
Controls and operation are straightforward: a cock-on-open bolt, a right-side sliding safety, and an internally adjustable trigger. The large slotted screw at the receiver junction indicates the correct takedown configuration, making transport and maintenance convenient.
Sighting equipment is traditional and practical, with a blade front on a ramped base and a barrel-mounted open rear sight with a step elevator. The 25 inch steel barrel and open sights provide a long sight radius well-suited to precise rimfire shooting.
Construction details align with Winchester’s mid-century rimfires: blued steel barrel and receiver, a walnut stock with a semi-pistol grip, uncheckered surfaces, a long forend, and a composition buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Markings are correct for the model and era. The barrel rollmark reads "WINCHESTER – MODEL 69 A – 22 S, L, OR L.R – NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. – TRADE MARK." The receiver ring bears the Winchester WP oval proof, and a barrel assembly number is present ahead of the receiver. Model 69/69A rifles were not factory-serialized.
