This Marlin Model 55 Goose Gun is a U.S.-made bolt-action 12 gauge built around a 36-inch plain steel barrel and a 3-inch magnum chamber. The barrel carries the rollmark "THE ORIGINAL MARLIN GOOSE GUN 3 INCH MAGNUM CHAMBER." It feeds from a detachable 2-round magazine for a 2+1 capacity and is drilled and tapped on the barrel shank for a scope base. Produced as part of the Goose Gun line circa 1962–1988, this example is in good overall condition with an excellent, mirror-bright bore.

The Goose Gun configuration centers on a long 36-inch plain round barrel with a brass-bead front sight, a fixed choke, and no choke-tube threads. It uses a bead front only, with no rear sight. Reference overall length is approximately 56.75 inches, and weight is about 8 lb.
This Model 55 variant is a bolt-action 12 gauge with a detachable box magazine that provides a 2+1 capacity. It is chambered for 3-inch magnum shells and includes a manual safety. Length of pull measures 14 inches.
