Springfield Armory M1 Garand .30-06, 24-inch Barrel, 1942 WWII U.S. Rifle, EXEL Gardena Re-Import
This 1942 Springfield Armory M1 Garand is a WWII-era U.S.-made semi-automatic in .30-06 with the standard 24-inch barrel and gas-port system. It features a locking-bar rear sight, a bayonet-lug gas cylinder, and the correct heel legend. Marked with a circled P proof on the grip and re-imported by EXEL in Gardena, California, it carries an import stamp at the muzzle.
Built on a forged steel receiver with a matte gray parkerized finish, this rifle retains the classic M1 configuration: an 8-round fixed internal magazine loaded via en-bloc clip and the standard gas-operated action. The receiver heel is marked "U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY."
The walnut furniture includes a full-length stock with semi‑pistol‑grip, two walnut upper handguards (front and rear), and a steel buttplate with trapdoor. Front and rear sling swivels and a stacking swivel are present, supporting its period-correct field setup.
Sighting is by robust iron sights: a wing-protected front blade and an aperture rear sight with a locking-bar style adjustment. The length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Provenance and markings add context: a circled P proof on the underside of the pistol grip and an EXEL GARDENA, CA import mark on the barrel near the muzzle confirm its re-import history. Country of origin is the United States and the production era is WWII.
