Produced in 1966 and made in Belgium, this Model 1910/55 is the Browning Arms Co. marketed variant, with slide legend reading 'BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST. LOUIS Mo & MONTREAL P.Q., MADE IN BELGIUM.' It carries Belgian Liège proofmarks including ELG-in-oval, PV, and star-over-letter.
The pistol is compact and all steel with a polished blue finish. It uses a 3.5-inch barrel and a 6+1 capacity in .380 ACP, feeding from a heel-release magazine. Black checkered synthetic grips with 'BROWNING' oval logos complete the classic profile.
Mechanically, it is a blowback, single-action, striker-fired design. Safety features include a grip safety, a manual safety, and a magazine disconnect, providing the layered safeties associated with the 1910/55 pattern.
Sighting is straightforward and low-profile, with a small half-moon front blade and an integral rear U-notch. The slide adds functional touches with rear grasping serrations and anti-glare serrations along the top.
A hallmark of the model, the distinctive knurled muzzle cap/takedown system streamlines field-stripping. The result is a tidy, time-tested package that reflects FN’s mid-century production quality and Browning branding.
